I'm trying to migrate a huge multi-table database (created far too
complex for its own good) into a three-table database, because it only
needs three tables. To do this, I am hoping to use JOINs to gather all
the information I need and INSERT it into a new database table (in MS

Can't launch SQL Server management Studio

We have 2 id under windows adminsitarotr groups, admin1 id is buid in admin
id can launch the sql managemetn studio but for admin2 id, when click the sql
Management studio, nothing happen, is there any forlder premission ,
checked the program files\mssql , administrators group have full access.

Multiple Backup Chains

Is it possible to have multiple backup chains for a database? For example, I
would like to maintain daily full backups on a local network drive, but the
files are too big to FTP every day to another site. Thus I would like to
just FTP a full backup once a week along with differential or log backups

I've recently installed Visual Studio 2010 Professional on a new development
notebook PC running Windows 7 Professional. I want to move my VS2005 VB.NET
projects over to it and migrate the projects using Access 2007 databases to

SQL Server Management Studio 2008 (SSMS2008)

I hope this is the right group for these questions because I need to use
SSMS2008 to connect to my database on the hosting service servers (they
decided to "upgrade" everybody when the hosting service was acquired by new
owners). I understand SSMS2008 is only available as an option when
installing SQL Server 2008. I do not want to buy SQL Server 2008 so if I

Rule "cluster shared disk available check" failed

I'm getting this error when trying to setup SQL on a 2 node server cluster.
Both servers have access to 2 volumes on the SAN. Neither Cluster Disk 1 or
2 have any dependencies.
the Failover Cluster Management says 2 disks online No disks available. It
also says Total capacity 500Gbs 100% Free and available capacity 0 bytes.
