OS-Level defragmentation?

Hi,
I've often wondered about OS-Level defraging my data disks of my SQL Server
2005 server. Is it recommended, is there anything I should be looking out
for? How often should it be done? Things like that.
Any suggestions?

Rows Deleting after a FK violation at subscriber

2000 Merge Replication. Publisher, SubscriberA, SubscriberB
I have a baffling situation I'm hoping someone can shine a little
light on...Any help would be geratly appreciated! I still haven't
given up on the newsgroups!
First I insert into a Primary Key Table. I then "use" these values to
insert into another table that has an FK constraint on the PK table.

VS DB Project Needs to Ignore Error

I have a SQL Server 2008 stored procedure that works fine, it uses
Change Data Tracking to find some inserted rows and does stuff.
I used a Visual Studio 2008 Schema Compare operation to populate my
Database Project with the databse configuration. The schema compare
successfully writes to the project.

I'm getting this error;
"This SQL Server Setup media is not supported on a X64 system" in a little
pop-up
when trying to run setup.exe in the root of the disk.
I'm running a fresh install of Windows Server 2008 R2 standard

both were downloaded as ISOs from MSDN

Importing / Updating from another DB to MS SQL

We have a MS SQL 2000 server and an Pervasive 2000i SP4 Server on seperate
boxes. There is a table on the Pervasive box that has a list of parts with
descriptions and other information that I need to have partially syncronized
wtih my MS box.
Right now I have an MS Access front end connecting to both tables via ODBC

Persisted Computed Column Logbased

Guys,
Have a question.
While adding an article that has a persisted computed column, has anyone
ever been able to replicate it as-is w/o having to worry about
functional dependencies on the subscriber similar to what can be done
with indexed views by using the "logbased" option?

Latency Threshold Alert Not Working

It appears that SQL Server never raises error 14161. I configured the alert
in Replication Monitor, then verified it was created. I set the threshold at
30 seconds. While monitoring during a load test latency was reported by the
replication monitor at 22 minutes, but still the alert was never fired. I

SQL Setup using well-known SID instead of account name

I have issues installing SQL 2005 Express using an ini file on some
non-English Windows installations. I receive a 28075 error when trying to
use the "NT Authority\System" account since on certain localized Windows
versions that gets renamed.
So, is thre a best practice for handling this or can I use a well-known SID
