2nd Instance of SQL2008 on MSCS 2008R2

Hello,
I wish to know how to install a 2nd SQL2008 Instance on a Windows 2008R2
Cluster.
Clustername and Cluster IP should be the same than on the 1st Instance.

Upating linked servers on subscriptions.

Hi,
Where is the data stored for what linked server to use for a particular
subscription? I setup a number of subscriptions creating a new linked server
on the fly each time. Now, I want to create one and have all the
subscriptions use a shared linked server.

Unable to install SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer on Windows 7 64bit

When I run the setup and choose new installation, I get this error during the
"Setup Support Files" process (ExecuteStandardTimingsWorkflo w).
Could not open key:
UNKNOWN\Components\43C313DB6EB AD154F901C6B5BFA69F06\C2BF01D6 9A282F04190DB76EC40FAD2F.
Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support

Reporting Services Re-Installation

After a recent machine crash I uninstalled and re-installed SQL Server 2008
(Dev Ed). The Reporting Services installation only the "Files only" option
was available.
I re-attached the databases OK but attempts to manually configure Reporting
Services failed.
I then uninstalled the reporting services element and moved the Reporting

SQL 2008 cluster security dialog

Complete installation insanity.
2 node cluster with 2 instances. One instance has already been upgraded to
SQL 2008 SP1 and the other is still SQL 2000, but I am currently upgrading.
Node 1 upgraded the instance without issue.
On node 2, I get to the 'cluster security policy' dialog and enter my domain

Error during Sql Server Setup

Hi,
I have the following error "Sql Server 2008 setup requires .net framework
3.5 to be installed " when i try to install Sql Server 2008, while .net
framework 3.5 and .net framework 3.5 sp 1 are installed.
any help is welcome.

SQL Server 2008 x64 SP1 File Extraction Failed!?

I have downloaded 3 or 4 times the SQL Server 2008 x64 sp1.
when I open the file the error message "Extraction Failed: File is Corrupt"
comes up.
I even used tools like winrar to extract but it says File is corrupt.
I used /x switch to extract in different path but I still get the same error

Question regarding how the witness server works.

If we take a backup of the witness server, and then the witness server has a
catastrophic failure and must be rebuilt, can we take the backup and restore
it and be assured that database mirroring and failover will work as expected?
Or are the contents of the witness server kept up to date as the mirroring
