Terminal Servers in Cluster - Login/Profile Issues - Please Help!
Hello Gurus,
Currently I am having an issue with logins and profiles as per details
below.
Server/Network Configuration Details:
1 X Windows Server 2008 Std FE 64bit (DC)
2 X Windows Server 2008 Ent 32bit Terminal Servers
User Profiles are Roaming and exist in: \\SBSERVER\Profiles on the Domain
Controller and C:\Users\ on the Terminal Servers.

Merge & DR
sql 2005 dedicated distributor
We replicate all tables to a backup server via trans repl, we also have
merge repl between pub & order entry subs. ONly the publisher is replicating
to the backup server, idea is when pub fails the backup should take over.
Problem, cannot get merge replicating between backup (new pub) and merge

clustering of sql servers?

Doubletake
Does anyone have an opinion about the product Doubletake as a 3rd party
replication tool for a backup server failover/failback strategy? Or even just
for replication?

You first have to replace the cluster node.
Then you may need to update SQL and remove the settings for the old node.
If you reused the node name, SQL cna get very confused.
Run the installer and gte into the Maintaining a Failover Cluster section.
Remove the failed node fom the SQL installation. This may generate some

Problem connecting SqlServer
Situation:
BOX A - Win xp Pro Sp3 with Sql Server Dev Edition
BOX B - Win xp Pro Sp3 with application that have to connect to Sql
Server on BOX A
Sql Server with mix authentication. When I try to connect to Box A I have
the error code 26.
If I ping the box A from box B all is OK.
Protocol Shared Memory and TCP/IP actived; Name Pipe and VIA disabled.

Snapshot Replication
we are trying to replicate data from SQL Server 2000 (Distributor/Publisher)
to SQL Server 2008 (Subscriber) both on Windows 2003 SP2.
The Snapshot publication Agent was run and the Snapshot ran successfully.
Next, the process 'Run Agent at Subscriber' with Push type failed with the
following error: - "The subscription(s) have been marked inactive and must be

Saved queries connecting
I have two users on separate PCs each sing management studio express 2005.
When one opens a saved query, they automatically get the popup connection
dialogue prepopulated with server and authentication details.
The other user just gets the query showing with no connection dialogue.
Why the difference in behaviour and how do I get the second user to be the

Hello Gurus,
We have a transactional replication running between two production
SQL2K5 servers, one server is the publisher and the distributor while
the other is only a subscriber. At this point the replication monitor
is showing a running status. The row count between the two servers is
off. We ran the initialization, the monitor and verification of the

Maintaining a timely warehouse
I want to try to use Transactional replication to build a warehouse of
our 90 databases....
I've got the warehouse shell set up, and publications that Keep
existing data when they sync. All databases are identical in schema,
and they now contain a Location column that is now used in the primary
key. So far so good: I have two databases pouring data into the

Unable to synchronize the row because of inadequate permissions
SQL2000 merge replication.
The row was deleted at 'devicename.dbName' but could not be deleted at
'server555.SFADB_dbName'. Unable to synchronize the row because of inadequate
permissions.
Anyone have a solution for this error?

One of my application servers cannot get an JDBC XA connection to the SQL Server
Currently we are using SQLServer JDBC Driver version 1.2. My SQL Server
version is Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP2 - 9.00.3042.00 (X64).
We are getting the following error while restarting the DTC while there are
connections.
