Hi,
We have migrated our db from sql2000 win server 2k to sql2008 win server 2k8. We have linked server from sql2000 win server 2k. By our opinion the problem is with DTC and we have made a lot of setting that we found as solution for our problem, but still the problem exist. There is no any error or worning or information niether in the sql log nor in win event viewer. The application is hanging out and at the end the time out exception is shown.

SQL2k8 Clustering Vs. Mirroring Scale Out Clarification

Hi All,
My company is looking to build a scalable, high availability SQL Server 2008
instance. I've been searching online to find definitive answers for a couple
of questions, namely:
If I setup Fail-over Clustering on 2k8 with 3 nodes, am I able to split the
workload across all 3 nodes? I've read that I can do this with a shared copy

I'm struggling with an deploying an application server and SQL server at a
customer location.
The SQL server will be deployed in a trusted zone and the app server in a
DMZ with firewall rules allowing access to the SQL server.
I have followed douments to reduce the number of ports that DTC will use to

I have seen numerous answer to the question "how to check if a linked server exist", but my problem is a bit different.
In my application I'm certain that the linked server exist, but this server is an access mdb file stored on a pen drive.
The customer is free to disconnect the pen drive to keep is data secure but my stored procedures fail with an oledb error message if the file is not there!
